Meet Mom

Warm, observant, and always in Noah’s corner.

In their small Northwest Indiana town, Mom knows the familiar rhythm of mornings: breakfast at the kitchen table, a walk to school, Pickles nearby, and the day waiting just outside the door.

She also knows Noah. She notices when his voice changes, when he falls a few steps behind, and when his quick “Yep” may not mean everything is okay.

PAUSE

Mom does not rush to fix the feeling. First, she notices. Then, she makes room for Noah to tell her what is happening.

Mom is supportive without forcing Noah forward before he is ready. When something important, like Family Night, makes his Worry Radar beep, she stays close and helps him find the next small step.

Their home has plenty of warmth and a little silliness, too. Noah likes to tease Mom about sneaking broccoli onto his plate. Mom may simply look toward the ceiling as if she has absolutely no idea what he means.

Helping someone feel brave can begin with letting them know they do not have to face the beep alone.

Mom’s Three Ways of Helping

1

Notice

She pays attention to the small signals that say Noah may need support.

2

Ask

A calm question gives Noah room to share without pressure.

3

Stay Close

She helps Noah move forward at his own pace, one safe step at a time.

Mom cannot make every uncertain moment disappear, and she does not try to. Instead, she helps Noah learn that a worried feeling can be heard, checked, and handled.

Whether the lake breeze is shifting the weather, the school day brings a surprise, or Family Night feels very big, Mom’s steady presence reminds Noah that courage has room to grow.
